The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme was developed by Dr Jon Kabat Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre and described in his bestselling book, Full Catastrophe Living. The heart of the programme is a series of meditation practices that are designed to bring mindfulness to the body, thoughts and feelings. The awareness this fosters informs the whole of life, especially how we respond to challenges and difficulties. It’s not a matter of learning ‘relaxation techniques’: mindfulness involves learning to face challenges and difficulties with greater poise and resourcefulness. Research shows that 85% of those completing a course continue to use mindfulness practices as part of their daily activities. Learn more about what happens on MBSR Courses.

Mindfulness training is entirely secular
