Mindfulness for Schools

Many schools are exploring how mindfulness can help students and staff manage stress and thrive. We’re experienced and respected in helping schools develop their own mindfulness programmes

Mindfulness is widely used to help both students and staff manage stress and other emotion and mental health issues. But there’s good evidence showing that it boosts academic attainment and fosters a greater sense of confidence and wellbeing. Some institutions are becoming Mindful Schools, placing awareness and calm at the heart of their ethos.

We work with schools in all these ways, as well as advising the UK Parliament and the Welsh Assembly on mindfulness in Education policy. We have close connections to the Mindfulness in Schools Project and other mindfulness trainers in Wales who work in this sector. If you’d like to explore how mindfulness could help in your school, please contact us.

Mindfulness for Teachers & Teaching Assistants (.b Foundations) Course 8 Tuesday/Wednesday Evenings 4.15pm- 5.45 pm, 27 February – 9 May Ysgol Plasmawr, Pentrebane Rd, Cardiff CF5 3PZ Contact/Booking

As a supply teacher,  I have noticed a greater sense of well-being in myself and contentment in my work since doing this course.  Mindfulness is a tool that helps me put all the ups and downs and challenges of supply teaching into a healthy perspective.    I would recommend this course to any fellow teacher looking to develop their practice.

Mindfulness is something I try to bring to the whole of my life, from washing the dishes to teaching classrooms of pupils in school.   Every moment is a mindfulness practice as every moment can touch my heart.

What We Offer

We can tailor our sessions to your needs. You may want to start with a taster session for staff or students. We also offer courses for  schools and colleges using .b (for secondary school students), and .b Foundations (for staff), and can also work with you on a more ambitious programme to bring mindfulness more fully into your school

Please contact us to discuss what might work best for your school. We collaborate with other mindfulness teachers in Cardiff and other parts of South Wales, and can help make connections if we can’t offer what you need.
